North Africa Company announced the continuation of advanced exploration and prospecting operations for gold and other minerals in the “Zeidoun” mountain area (Block DF73), located between the cities of Quseir and Marsa Alam in the Red Sea Mountains of the Eastern Desert, during August 2026.

The company aims to achieve a significant commercial gold discovery in the area, thereby enhancing Egypt’s position on the regional and international mining map. This initiative is being undertaken in strategic partnership with the Canadian company New Kingdom and the British company SRK, under the leadership of Dr. Haytham El-Abbady, Managing Director and Board Member of North Africa Mining Company.

Dr. El-Abbady emphasized that the preparatory operations and geological studies are being conducted according to the highest international standards in collaboration with international partners. He noted that the Zeidoun mountain area possesses promising potential that opens new horizons for mining investment in Egypt in the coming period.

In a strategic move to strengthen its leadership in the Egyptian mining sector, North Africa for Industry and Mining has completed field exploration and prospecting activities at its sites in the Eastern Desert and the Red Sea Mountains.

This work follows the official contract with the British company SRK, one of the world’s leading mining consultancies, to ensure that exploration and prospecting activities are carried out according to the highest international standards and modern scientific methods.

Under Wise Leadership Direction
Work commenced at the site based on direct guidance from:

• His Excellency the Minister, Engineer Osama Kamal, Chairman of the Board

• Major General Dr. Ahmed Abdullah, Vice Chairman of the Board

• Dr. Haytham El-Abadi, Managing Director

This is part of the company’s ambitious plan, in partnership with the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources and the Egyptian Mineral Resources Authority, to maximize the utilization of Egypt’s untapped mineral resources and boost production to serve the national economy. The current phase includes precise geological surveys, a comprehensive assessment of the geological strata, and the final planning of drilling operations in the Red Sea Mountains region. We are using the latest technologies provided by SRK and coordinating with the expert technical staff of North Africa Company to achieve optimal results in record time.

A prominent meeting was recently held that included an elite group of experts in the field of mining, headed by Major General Dr. Ahmed Abdullah, former Governor of Port Said and the Red Sea. Orogenic gold mineralization in the ANS formed late in the cratonization process, Due to the repeated magmatic activities, reactivated tectonic trends especially WNW- ESE and NNE–SSW and their associated fluids, many alteration halos are observed, the common presence of silica veins, clay minerals, hematite, calcite, and silicification, kaolinization, hematitization, carbonatization processes respectively along the shear zone.

 

Geochemical exploration activities during July-September 2023 focused on completion of regional reconnaissance mapping and sampling at the concession along with the subsequent integration of new mapping and sampling with historic structural data were taken across the main structure of the NW-SE trend.

NAMI is using ALS international lab for sample preparation and analysis which ALS has provided comprehensive testing solutions to clients in a wide range of industries all over the world. Samples were analyzed for gold by fire assay with an atomic absorption spectroscopy.

 

From the sample results we can easily notice the corridors of mineralization to be followed up with more systematic samples and essentially 4 main targets have been identified and currently an extensive program of sampling and detail mapping is progressing as below map.
